Wishful Wednesday...Easter

I wish....I could re-live that one Easter memory from my childhood, and it would be the Easter that _________________.

I love this topic! I cannot just pin point just ONE Easter that I would like to re-live from my childhood. I am fortunate enough to have several cousins on my Moms side of the family and when we were kids it was a big deal for all of us to go to my MeMaws and hunt Easter eggs. I can vividly remember my brother and I riding to Somerville, TN on Easter Sunday after church, and we were not allowed to take our Easter clothes off because MeMaw and Charlie had to see us in our Easter best! My Mom always packed Kirk and I a change of clothes so that once everyone saw us we were allowed to put on "play" clothes. Once the play clothes were on, it was time to hunt some eggs! We always had a few golden eggs or prize eggs, and those eggs ALWAYS had money inside! Once my Grandparents passed away, and all of us kids/cousins grew older it was more and more difficult to get everyone together at the same time. I miss those times so much! I wish I had an old picture of those famous egg hunts to post, I just might have to "hunt" one down to add to my blog at a later date!

MASCARA....

I posted yesterday how much I LOVE mascara! I had a couple of people leave comments and ask me which was my favorite mascara, and I can honestly say that I do NOT know! I have yet to meet a tube of mascara that has just "rocked my world!!" Currently I am using Clinque's high lengths mascara but only because it came in my "free gift" this month!
Okay blog gals - What is your favorite type of mascara???

Top Two Tuesday - Random Things about ME

1. I have 7 tattoos, I love, adore, and cherish each one of them! I got each one at a different point in my life and they all hold strong sentimental value. Many people ask if I think I will ever regret them, my answer is ABSOLUTELY not!

2. I am 100% obsessed with mascara! I would pick up a tube each time I went to Target and/or Sephora, seriously I would! I see all these advertisements for different brands and what the mascara can do for my me (make my lashes thicker, longer, eyes brighter, etc...). Needless to say, my makeup bag holds SEVERAL tubes that did not meet my expectations so I just keep buying MORE!! It is a slight sickness! HA!

Project Life - Week 11

It's Project Life Tuesday!!! I have to post a disclaimer for this week and the next 6 weeks - I told you all in my last post I am taking three classes this term so I just do NOT have a lot of ME time. I have told myself that I am NOT going to get behind on my album, even if I have to look back through old pictures and use some of my favorites that I have not printed yet for my 2010 album. I have really enjoyed taking these pictures and doing the journaling cards as well, however I AM behind on my journaling but I will catch up on those this week. (I HOPE!!) I am so thankful that my Momma takes pictures of Addison during the week, many of the pics in this weeks post are hers. I am thinking that I might need to invest in a small point a shoot camera that I can just throw in my purse, that way I could snap some pics of my girlfriends at school! I want to capture and have memories of these wonderful gals in my classes, without them I would NOT make it through!! Can't wait to visit everyone's blogs and check out this weeks pics!

3.22 - Picture of the birthday girl with a birthday balloon! As you know from last weeks post we had her birthday party at Build a Bear and then went up to the food court for pizza and cupcakes. It is mall policy that you cannot have balloons or light candles in the mall - so she had to play with her balloons once we got home.

3.23 - Addison went to see an allergist today. Poor baby had to have about 24 small pricks on her back so that we could see if it was allergies that is keeping her so sick with coughing and congestion. We found out that she is allergic to several trees, mold, and FEATHERS! The doctor doesn't want to treat the allergies just yet, she had a really bad sinus infection that he wants to clear up before we even attempt to tackle the allergies. Hopefully it is the sinuses that is giving her the issues and we wont have to deal with the allergies right now.
3.24 - A project that I did tonight in class - we were learning different things that we could do for science lessons, how CUTE is this skeleton made outta q-tips??? I cannot WAIT to do this in my classroom one day!
3.25 - Taking a bath in NeNe's HUGE jacuzzi tub!

3.26 - I did not have a picture for Friday so I have been going thru my pictures and picking out ones that I want to put in my album and journal about. Here is Addison last year when she was in the hospital with pneumonia - we are STILL dealing with the sinus/congestion from that hence why we were at the allergist earlier this week!

3.27 - I cut all my hair off!! I had at least 5 almost 6 inches cut off my hair today - I had started waking up every morning and putting my hair in a ponytail, it was TIME to go back to some style! I am really happy with the cut, I am going to go this weekend and lighten it up some for the summer! :)
3.28 - Addison is smelling some flowers that her grandparents put on the altar at church in honor of her and in memory of Avery for their 5th birthdays

Favorite Fridays - Comedy TV

Favorite Fridays

Okay so I am going to be the odd ball on this one for sure!! I do not like comedy sitcoms - I am not a Seinfield or Friends Fan (you can all pick up your chins off the floor!! hahaha) But since it IS Favorite Fridays and I am going to play along I would have to say that my favorite comedy tv would have to be - THREE'S COMPANY!! I still enjoy watching the re-runs on TV Land when they are on.

This show brings back SO many memories of when I was a kid and would stay up on Friday nights to watch this and Alice! "Mel, Kiss My Grits!!"

Top Three Thursday - Male Movie Hotties

It is Top Three Thursday over at Keeping up with Kelly!
My top three male movie faves/hotties would have to be:

1. Peter Facinelli - I love Peter for SO many reasons! First, he is my FAVORITE vampire in the Twilight series, "paging Dr. Cullen please". Second, uhhhhhh hello he is married to Jennie Garth aka Kelly Taylor from 90210 in real life!! Third, I can have a slight crush on him and not feel "cougar-ish" HA!

2. Robert Pattinson - I do love RPatz from his role as THE Edward Cullen in the Twilight films, I thought that he was the perfect picture of what I had imagined Edward to look like as I was reading the Twilight books. However, I recently saw him in his new film, Remember Me, and I was blown away by his acting. I was excited to see him in such a good role apart from the Twilight films, I know that many of us older fans were wondering if he would be stuck as THE vampire role forever. I feel confident that RPatz has a long career ahead of him once the last Twilight Saga film is over.

3. James Marsden - I have always loved James, he is easy on the eyes but he is also such a versatile actor. He has been in films such as X Mex, The Notebook, Hairspray, Enchanted, 27 Dresses, and Superman Returns. My favorite movies of his would have to be X-Men, Hairspray, and 27 Dresses. The Benny and the Jets scene from 27 Dresses is adorable, I could watch his cute self in that scene over and over and over!!

Wishful Wednesday...HANDBAGS!!!!!

I wish..... I could afford this Louis Vuitton Galliera PM handbag without putting a dent in my pocketbook!!

A girl can DREAM, can't she?? This gem retails for $1, 280.00, and I can assure that unless Shawn and I hit the lottery I will not be the proud owner of one of these bags!! A few years ago Shawn and I went to Nashville for the weekend, and I was able to go shop at Green Hills Mall. As we walked into the mall I saw a Sephora, a Coach store, a Tiffanys, and then all of the sudden the angels started singing as I saw the LV logo across the hallway!! HA - I am being honest here!! I almost ran across the mall and into the store, I was drooling as we looked at all of the handbags, shoes, and luggage! Needless to say, I left that mall without a Louis Vuitton bag, but man was it fun looking at all of the stunning bags! I am a handbag JUNKIE, and have to brag on my hubby for the fabulous Coach bag that he did buy me for Valentine's Day!! This year Coach, next year a Louis!!!!!!!! KIDDING HONEY!!! Project Life - Week 11

Happy Project Life Tuesday!! I decided to do something a little different with my album this week. Addison's 5th Birthday was on Saturday and it was just too hard for me to pick ONE picture so I decided that this whole week would be pictures from her birthday party! That is one of the things that I LOVE about this project life album is that you can make it work for you!! I have not really decided how I am going to do the journaling cards for this week, but I do have an invite that I was able to put in a page protector to keep for years to come. Here are just a few shots from her birthday party at Build-A-Bear, I hope you enjoy them!!

All of the girls getting name tags and getting ready to pick out their very own special stuffed animal!
Animals in hand and ready to get them all stuffed so that they will be perfect for hugging!!

All of the girls waiting their turn to stuff their new friend!

Cleaning Alvin up really, really good before we bring him home!

Making sure he feels nice and squishy!!

I LOVE Addison's face in this picture - she was SO over the picture taking!!!

Pizza and cupcakes in the food court with all of her family and friends!!

Favorite Fridays - (Favorite Music Group)

Favorite Fridays

I decided to join in the fun with Favorite Fridays over on Jen's blog - I ADORE music so this is a topic I could not miss!! Okay so those of who know me know my love, adoration, ahem, obsession with RICK SPRINGFIELD!! ( i know, i know he's not a "group" but he IS my all time favorite musician!!) I have loved the "Rockgod" since I was in Elementary School; my mom took my cousin and I to see him at the Mid South Coliseum in the 80s. (Do you remember that night Mindy????) It was my first live concert and I was hooked from that first guitar riff that filled the coliseum. I have been lucky enough to get to meet Rick several times during the past ten years - here are just a few pics of he and I together. ***Rick and I BOTH have changed in the past TEN years!!*** He is a such a nice guy and genuinely adores his fans just as much as we love him!!

Rick and I in Nashville, TN

Rick and I in Missouri

Rick and I @ The Gibson Guitar Factory here in Memphis
Rick and I in Las Vegas

This is the FIRST time I met Rick in 1999 at Gold Strike Casino in Tunica, MS

Project Life - Week 10

YAY!! I am so happy that I was able to join in the fun for this Project Life Tuesday - my life has been just crazy busy this past week and I was really thinking that I was going to have to skip this weeks post. I was able to get my pics together though, and even have 45 mins to spare before the clock strikes midnight!! Matter of fact I am going to use that 45 mins to catch up on my journaling cards - I do not want to get too far behind!! Please pray for me as I start going to school three nights this week. I will be in class Monday, Weds, and Thursday nights, but only for SEVEN weeks!! I can DO this - graduation is so close I can taste it!! Hope everyone is having a good week and enjoy the pics!!

3.8 - This was an EXCELLENT picture to start off this week in the Banks' household. This week has been so busy, my observations have started and I took one portion of my Praxis exam on Saturday morning. I have to tell you all that I spent a lot of quiet time with Jesus this week - I have been totally overwhelmed and doubted myself many, many times but with Him I have been able to press on through this storm!!
3.9 - Our family sponsors a little girl with Compassion International - it warms my soul to get letters and drawings from her. It made my hectic week so much better to get this drawing from Ivonne today. I am so glad that our family is able to help this child in El Salvador.
3.10 - I realized that I didn't have a picture for Weds this week so I chose one of my favorites that I have not had printed yet. I love this picture of Addison in her fairy wings!
3.11 - Addison celebrated her birthday today at school!! She was able to wear this fabulous birthday crown all day and was oh so excited that she was able to pick a prize out of the treasure chest!! (Her birthday isn't until the 20th but she will be on Spring Break from school that week.)
3.12 - She is 5 going on 35!! Didn't she do just a wonderful job with her blush today!!??!!
3.13 - I love this picture - I was able to be sneaky and catch her making herself beautiful in her bathroom. I am almost POSITIVE some singing of a Hannah Montana song was apart of this process!!
3.14 - Check this out - Aunt Maxi gave Addison an early birthday gift today, it was Barbie and her pups that she has been potty training!! Look closely, I can assure you that is not MUD on the newspaper where the pups are learning to go potty!! HA!!

Remember Me...

I have been MIA this week as I have been preparing for my the reading portion of my Praxis II exam. I took the test at 1045 this morning and will not know my results for a month. I know that I did my best, and I hope I can pull that passing score!! Not only have I been preparing for my test this week, I have also been observing in the schools in the mornings before I go into the office in the afternoons. In other words, I have been EXHAUSTED this week, however I have enjoyed my time in the schools so much I cannot wait to become a teacher!! Since this week IS my spring break, I decided today I needed some "me" time. Marlana (one of my BFFs) and I went to see "Remember Me", yes we were partial to the movie because Robert Pattinson was the lead role but WOW it was such a powerful movie. I do not want to say much about it because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I understand there are some spoilers out there and I am so glad I did not read them before I saw the movie. All I will say is that it was a good story, wonderful message, and REALLY REALLY made me think about my life and family. Did any of yall see this movie this weekend? What did yall think?

Project Life - Week 9

It's Tuesday again!! Time for those weekly Project Life posts! I am on Spring Break this week and plan on getting all my journaling cards and all caught up. I am only a few days behind, so it should not take me too long. With these great Tuesday posts keeping me on my toes - its easy for me to go back and view my blog and just jot down on my journaling card and pop it right into my album. I cannot say ENOUGH about this scrapbooking system!! I work, and go to school, and I still have time to complete this project each week. THANK YOU BECKY HIGGINS for creating this, now on to my pics!! (Remember, to see other Project Life posts from the week just click the icon at the top to hop on over to Jessica Turner's blog!!)

3.1 - Tonight I sat and watched in total sadness as Jake picked HER over Tenley!! Boo, Jake!!

3.2 - Happy Birthday Sweet Avery Grace - I know that you enjoyed your birthday with the angels!!

3.3 - This crazy weather change has Addison sick AGAIN - we are so ready for some steady temps around here!! She missed school on Tuesday and Thursday this week.
3.4 - However - this picture does NOT look like a sick little girl at all! You know how it is with kids, they seem to be fine during the day and then it goes down hill at night!

3.5 - My last Saturday class was this week - here is all my books and all that I had out while I was preparing for my presentation on Saturday morning. Don't look at the TV remote control - I promise the TV was OFF ;)
3.6 - Addison got this puppy bingo game for Christmas and we had a fun time playing together on Saturday night. I have always, always loved board games!!

3.7 - I did not have a picture that I took on Sunday but with Addison's 5th Birthday coming up this month I wanted to put this picture in my Project Life album. I say this every year - I cannot believe that she will be 5 in a few weeks. I remember the doctors telling us that we would be cautiously optimistic with her, and that it would be touch and go for a very long time. I do not lay my head on the pillow at night without praising my Heavenly Father for Addison - her 5 years of life, and the passing of her twin sister has taught me so much. I would not be the woman that I am today had it not been for that storm in my life.
