Project Life August 16 - August 22

Is the weekend already OVER!!?? Whew - I do not know about everyone else but these crazy busy weeks are wearing me out! Once Addison started Kindergarten, I changed my work schedule to 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. but we have been so busy that I have not walked out of the office at 3 p.m. yet! This whole getting up early and going to school business has been not only an adjustment to Addison but to our whole family. Honestly, I think that Addison is adjusting better than anyone else! I have missed all the Project Life posts this month except for one so I wanted to show you all some pictures that I want to make SURE are added to the album. I cannot believe that I am already about to start taking pictures for my September section of the album; Christmas will be here before we know it!!

Addison and THE purple unicorn pillow pet - she has been begging for one of these for months and months. I ordered her one and forgot about it until the box showed up on our doorstep!! She was extremely surprised!!

First night of dance class- she is REALLY enjoying herself! She is always bummed when class is over.

Addison and "Alice" - My mom and I took Addison to see The Germantown Performing Arts Centers performance of "Alice in Wonderland." Addison adores all things Alice and since the all of the actors in the play were kids, she enjoyed it so much!! She wore her Alice dress, shoes and carried the Cheshire cat; the whole cast commented on how Addison was "dressed for the part." She was tickled to no end when one of the photographers there asked her if she would let her take her picture with "Alice."
Another shot of Addison and the little girl who played the part of "Alice"

**note to self for album - I skipped 8.9 thru 8.16 and 8.23 thru 8.29** :)

Tiny Dancer

Not only did Addison start Kindergarten this month, she also started dance classes! Thursday night was her first class and she enjoyed every single minute! Unfortunately they do not let the parents watch, but she put on a mini lesson for Shawn and I later that night. Here is a shot of our "tiny dancer", I cannot wait to see her dance in her recital!

When she walked out of her class her first words were, "Mom, you will NEVER believe what we danced too!!" Here is a hint...
Addison LOVES to "pop-it, lock-it, polka dot it"!!
Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!!

Top Two Tuesday Characters...

Top Two Characters You Would Want To Play on a TV Show or Movie

1. Rose DeWitt Bukater Dawson - Where do I start to describe why I would want to play the part of "Rose" from the Titanic film? I loved her strong will and stubborn attitude at the start of the movie yet true love slowly transformed her into a woman with true class. She will ALWAYS be on my top ten favorite fictional characters!

2. Alice Cullen - You KNOW I had to have a Cullen as part of my top two!! I adore Alice Cullen, she was my favorite character of ALL the Cullen clan. She's cute, spunky and in my opinion has fabulous eye for fashion!! I think it would be so much fun to play a character who is very feminine but who can kick some ware wolf booty!!

Project Life Aug 2nd-Aug 8th

It's Project Life Tuesday and I am a WEEK late!! No worries though, I am determined to get caught up and have a COMPLETE 2010 album before January 1, 2011 rolls around! I am currently about 3 months behind on my journaling cards, but I have kept up fairly well with my blog so the journaling cards will be a breeze! I think I may have my New Years Eve already planned out - me, a pen, and my journaling cards!!I hope everyone enjoys my pics for the week - they are some more of my favorite shots from our vacation.

August 2 - I love this shot!! It was so hot that my lens was trying to fog up, but it made a cool effect on the photo!!

August 3rd - One day on our vacation we drove the scenic route along the Smokey Mountains. There were areas of the route that we rolled our windows down and just listed to this water rushing along the rocks.
August 4th - There were butterflies everywhere while we were on vacation, just ask my mom and she can tell you all about them!! :) HAHA!! She talked about a butterfly that "followed" her for hours one day it became a joke between her and my dad.

August 5th - I think that I mentioned last week how much we enjoyed the cabin. The owners had left all sorts of kid friendly games as well as a pool table downstairs.

August 6th - First Day of Kindergarten!!

August 7th - I took this picture of Addison at the Bass Pro Shop in Sevierville, TN. Ha! I loved this shot because Addison has the "deer in the headlights" look!!

August 8th - Addison had her friend little friend Abby.

Show and Tell

Sorry it has been so long since I have updated my blog, our lives are going through some major adjustments!! This week was Addison's first full week of Kindergarten and let me just say that we are BOTH ready for the weekend!! I have been getting up by 6:15am and waking her up by 6:45, for those of you who know us you know its a MIRACLE!! HA!! I do have to say that Addison has done really well and I am so proud of her for being such a big girl in the mornings!

She has "Show and Tell Friday's" at school and tomorrow's topic is "All About Me". Her teacher requested that we practice what she is going to say about her show and tell items, so I decided that I would shoot a quick video to share with all of you!

But before the videos I wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to Jamie for giving my blog a new look!! I guess you could say that this is my "Show and Tell" for the day!! If you are looking for someone to design your blog please contact Jamie, she is such a sweetheart and super easy to work with. You can visit her blog site here!

Way to go Addison!! I know that she will do great in class tomorrow!!

I hope everyone has a FABULOUS weekend!!

Twas the night before Kindergarten....(continued)

In the morning it came -
School starts today!
Would the teacher be nice?
Would she still get to play?

Her face was all washed,
Her teeth were brushed white,
She posed for her picture,
With eyes sparkling bright!

She grabbed her backpack
And hopped into the car
And dashed off to the school,
Good thing it's not far!

She let go of mommy's hand
And then walked down the hall
And heard mommy promise
That she would not bawl!

The teacher then greeted
Each one with a smile
And invited the students
To stay for awhile.

The room was all filled
With books, colors and toys,
Such wonderful things
For all girls and boys!

Addison was playing
And as happy could be,
When she happened to look
And see her mommy,

And what to her wondering
Eyes should appear
But a very sad mommy
Who was holding back tears!
Her nose - so sniffy,
Her eyes - red and wet!
This was the saddest goodbye
Addison had ever seen yet!

She ran to her mommy
On the magical rug
And then sent her away
After one final hug!

She waved to her mom
From the door of the school,
"Don't cry Mommy!
Kindergarten is COOL!"

Twas the night before Kindergarten....

'Twas the night before Kindergarten,
And as she prepared,
Addison was excited
And a little bit scared.

She tossed and she turned
About in her bed
As visions of school supplies
Danced in her head.

Erasers and crayons
And pencils galore
Were stuffed in her backpack
And set by the door.

Her outfit was laid out
On the couch with care,
Knowing that Kindergarten
Soon would be there!

TO BE CONTINUED.....

Project Life July 26th - Aug 1

I am a few days late on my Project Life post but we have been up in the mountains on vacation!!

July 26th - Addison wearing my glasses! Doesn't she look so studious?? So hard to believe that MY baby girl will be starting Kindergarten on Friday!!!

July 27th - The famous Twinkle Toes!! I already did a post about these gems, but I wanted to include a picture in my Project Life Album.

July 28th - Okay so my dates are not "exact" on these next few pictures, but we just got back from a family vacation to Gatlinburg, TN and I have SEVERAL pictures I want in my album!! Here is a shot of the girls in the penguin play place tunnel at the Ripley's Aquarium.

July 29th - Another shot of Addison "hanging" at the Aquarium

July 30th - Shawn, Jena and myself went to The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN. I have always been a Titanic buff and absolutely fell in love with the Leonardo/Kate version of the movie. This museum was so interesting and equally heartbreaking. There was an area where we were allowed to stick our hands in 28 degree water so that we could feel how cold the ocean water was for these passengers as they literally froze to death. Unfortunately, no cameras were allowed inside the museum but isn't the outside amazing!!

July 31 - A shot of the Smokey Mountains that I took from an observation deck in the Smokey Mountain National Park.

Aug 1 - My "vacay" purchase!! Shawn took me to a Coach outlet and bought me this new purse for our anniversary! I will say that it took me about an hour to decide that THIS was the bag that would coming home with me! Thanks Honey!!

I have more Gatlinburg pictures to add to next weeks Project Life post...I already have them picked out and ready to upload!!
